Doctor Who - The Forever Trap

Well, not much to say about this, except that yes, I am well aware of its flaws. This was purely a practice piece, and a first try at that. I got it into my head to learn how to draw comics. I figured that the best way to learn is usually to just do it, again and again and again... I'll share the results, and you'll hopefully see some improvement eventually.

I accidentally found out how to get an honest criticism out of my boyfriend - not telling him that I painted it. He looked at this and said: "That colouring's cool, you'll have to try that some time. The drawings are rubbish, of course." lol

So, yeah. The Doctor does look like a Tyrannosaurus in panel 3, Donna looks horrible and not like herself at all, and her hair grows miraculously between two panels. And let's not even get started about their hands... I'm just glad that you can't see the messy layers I ended up with by experimenting with the colouring and layout without having a plan. Any advice on how to do better would be more than welcome.

The story is not by me, it is actually the beginning of the audio book "The Forever Trap"(rubbish title), written by Dan Abnett - and no, I'm not drawing the whole thing, maybe two more pages, and I will likely remove the words from their speech bubbles before posting them here. The idea was to translate a given story into pictures, but if you want to know the story, you'll have to get the audiobook.
